Meet Our Providers

Timothy Farner M.Ed, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor (PA)
Graduate, Shippensburg University (M.Ed.)
Graduate, University of Pittsburgh (BS)

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Mr. Farner has taken an eclectic approach to counseling that incorporates an individual’s strengths and goals as well as considering past trauma and life events that may be impacting a person’s present level of functioning. In addition, he feels strongly as though outward behavior is not the problem to be “fixed,” but instead that the behavior is symptomatic of the distress that a person is feeling. In his work, he challenges clients to take a deep look into the patterns in their lives that continue to play out and perpetuate the problems that they are experiencing. During his 20+ years in the mental health field, he's worked extensively with children and families in their homes, schools, and in the outpatient setting. Mr. Farner's particularly interested in working with families, couples, and children in order to repair and enhance their attachments and relationships. He feels that if a person feels secure in their attachments and relationships, they will be able to cope more effectively with difficult situations and life events.
